In the final chapters of Meg Cabot's Haunted, the drama really started to pick up. After hearing the news about Jesse at school, she goes out in the breezeway extremely upset, and of course, Paul is there. This only upsets her even more. He continues to try and hit on her, and she finally pushes him off of her to run away. He is so angered by this, that he ends up going off on a fellow schoolmate and teacher, which causes him to get suspended. Later that night, Suze's brother finally has his hot tub party. While talking to Jesse in an intense moment, Paul barges into her room to give her back a hair clip that "she left on his bed." Suze knows this is far beyond the truth; she noticed her hair clip was missing while she was at school. This makes Jesse crazy mad, and he attacks Paul. This leads to a horrible fight (well, not really, considering Jesse is pretty much killing Paul), and Paul's head ends up in the hot tub, where Jesse tries to drown him. Pretty soon, Neil, who has attended the party, is also shoved into the hot tub by his brother Craig. Of course, all the normal people cannot see the two ghosts on the other end, so this looks extremely strange! I will not say what happens next because I feel like it will ruin the plot, but everything works out.
In the following days, Suze's best friend CeeCee makes a very important realization, which most definitely shocked me, and Jesse does something super romantic. It was a great ending for a spectacular book! I've already checked out the next one, and I absolutely can't wait to read it...some of the best books ever =D!
